Meet Debbie Williams

I am the proud owner of Sweet Heat Ladies Gun Club and the only California Department of Justice Certified African American Female Firearms Instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area. My mission is to create a safe, empowering, and inclusive space for women—particularly women of color—to learn how to handle firearms safely and confidently.

My journey began in 2018 when I purchased my first handgun and immediately noticed the lack of representation in firearms training. This was deeply concerning, particularly since Black women are the fastest-growing demographic of handgun owners in the U.S. I knew I had to step up and create a solution—a space where women like me could learn in a supportive and welcoming environment.

My signature course, Women’s Introduction to Handgun Safety, is specifically designed to help women overcome fear and uncertainty through knowledge and empowerment. Whether you’ve never handled a firearm before or simply want to build your confidence, this class is the perfect starting point.

I am very passionate about encouraging women of color to attend firearms training because we face higher rates of violence and homicide than other groups. My classes provide not only practical skills but also the confidence and empowerment to protect yourself.

Mission Statement:

At Sweet Heat Ladies Gun Club, we are committed to fostering a supportive learning environment and empowering women to take control of their safety. Our goal is to instill a mindset of preparedness, resilience, and empowerment while promoting inclusivity and equality.

I hope to see you in one of my classes soon!
